Summary:
 
MicroStrategy is an international software company headquartered in McLean, VA with offices in over 20 countries and we are looking to fill a Treasury Analyst/Cash Management role for our Finance department in our growing, tight knit team. This position requires a professional with prior experience in treasury and cash management, strong analytical skills, and superb communication skills that knows and researches the market and industry changes and how it will affect our global organization and its cash positioning. 
 
This opportunity will provide a great deal of exposure to a treasury professional looking to utilize their experience within a growing organization while working side by side with a knowledgeable Manager and directly with our CFO. Basic Function:
 
The Treasury Analyst will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager in running the daily cash management function as well as collaborate with various banks, brokers, and cross-functional teams internally.  This individual must have the ability to apply knowledge of economics to forecast and advise on the best possible investment decisions and be capable of interpreting trends into reports, graphs and spreadsheets for the decision makers.
 
As a Treasury Analyst your role will be to:
 
 

  • Determine the world wide daily cash position
  • Prepare daily cash reports, including updating FX rates, outstanding checks and investment holdings
  • Prepare a weekly Treasury Report for management’s review
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis of economic trends influencing the investment portfolio
  • Coordinate monthly intercompany settlements with the international finance teams and assist with obtaining foreign wire approvals
  • Track intercompany loan schedule
  • Assist with preparing annual IRS filings on bank accounts
  • Work closely with the banks on wire investigations, fee discrepancies and other issues
  • Manage bank account opening, maintenance and closing process
  • Assist in communicating with the banks on issues that arise
  • Maintain a database of bank account fees on a monthly basis
  • Manage a list of bank account signatories worldwide, ensure signers are timely updated
  • Assist with the letter of credit process
  • Initiate wire transfers via banking software and process tax payments via on-line system
  • Audit on-line user banking entitlements on a quarterly basis
  • Process stop payments, positive pay uploads and exceptions
  • Manage bank ratings for company’s bank accounts on a quarterly basis
  • Develop periodic and ad-hoc reporting to be included in regular reporting packages
  • Ensure worldwide compliance of cash management policies and review policies annually

Job Requirements:
 

  • Bachelors Degree with 2-4 years of corporate work experience
  • Knowledge of Economics to follow the analyst reports and market analysis to understand how interest rates and other key indicators affect the financial markets
  • Experience with international issues a plus
  • High ethical standards
  • Demonstrate interest in a career in Treasury or Corporate Finance
  • CTP designation preferred but not required
  • Ability to work with people at all levels and influence operational decisions
  • Highly developed analytical and communication skills
  • Highly organized, with focus on process discipline
  • Requires intermediate proficiency in MS Excel
  • Knowledge of banking software or portals preferred but not required
