Our Client in Washington DC is a subsidiary of a well known Not-For-Profit
This is a 35hr work week paying 70-80k a year
DUTIES, RELATIONSHIPS & EVALUATION CRITERIA: List the major duties of this position in order of importance, as well in key internal and external relationships and criteria for evaluating success
Prepare Payroll on a bi-monthly basis
Prepare check payments to vendors, staff and materials.
Prepare Profit and Loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
Establish, maintain and coordinate the implantation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
Monitor and review accounting and related systems for accuracy and completeness .
Prepare and review with appropriate staff budget revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, contracts and other documents.
Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure control and realistic revenue expectations.
Develop and provide reports, charts and presentations for staff, Board of Directors and funders that provide a financial analysis of the business.
Resolve account discrepancies
Develop and maintain financial databases, manual and computer software systems, including working to integrate Great Plains with Salesforce.
Interact with internal and external auditors
QUALIFICATIONS: List the minimum years and type of experience and/or level of education required
7-10 years accounting and business experience, with an emphasis on analysis and including experience in payroll, general ledger accounting, and tax accounting. Masters in Accounting, with emphasis on business. Ability to see the “big picture” and think analytically and strategically. Excellent computer skills; experience using Great Plains and processing payroll with Ceridian or similar service required.
