Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures clients' menu selections comply with prescribed diet order, nutritional adequacy, age, cultural background, and religious practice
  • Writes and modifies menus as needed according to client diet prescription using established resources/guidelines
  • Updates, monitors, and follows up on all pertinent client information like diet order changes, food allergies, food preferences, and requests
  • Conducts quarterly nutrition education seminars at ENP cafe sites
  • Produces monthly nutrition education information of the reverse side of menu identification cards
  • Conducts homebound client assessment visits
  • Ensures that food is of quality, but also meets budgetary needs
  • Provides homebound nutrition education
  • Must be able to work closely with the Meals on Wheels staff
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Nutrition Coordinator
  • Must be able to create menus within limitations
  • Must be able to work closely with the Meals on Wheels staff

Education, Qualifications and Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • Pursuing Bachelor of Science in Dietetics or related - preferred
  • One (1) year in the food industry - preferred
