You will be based out of the Washington, DC office, working directly with McKinsey's central Public Affairs team as well as with internal and external stakeholders.

Who You'll Work With
You will work with the Public Affairs team as it builds-out a world-class public affairs function.
You will collaborate frequently with key internal stakeholders, including colleagues from legal, compliance, and communications teams through support for firm leaders on emerging trends, opportunities, and threats as it pertains to the firm's initiatives around the world.
What You'll Do
In this role you will directly support the shaping of public affairs priorities and executing against them. This role will prioritize the effective positioning of McKinsey as a thought leader and the development and cultivation of relationships with key stakeholders.
You will support and shape priority projects which include implementing the firm's public affairs strategy, supporting reputation building and stakeholder engagement.
You will work to maintain effective relationships on behalf of the firm with key policymakers with a goal of educating on the firm's value proposition.
You will serve as an ambassador of McKinsey, by representing the firm in key forums and keeping firm interests at the forefront.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years' professional experience in Public Affairs or equivalent; preferably with high exposure to U.S. Government
  • Congressional, gubernatorial policy or political experience strongly preferred with knowledge and understanding of key policymakers and external partners
  • Excellent communicator with strong writing and storytelling skills and the ability to work together with internal and external stakeholders at different levels
  • Skilled in building trust-based relationship
  • Able to work independently and to balance multiple workstreams simultaneously

Factors like your office location, your unique blend of experience and skills, and our current organizational needs all play a part in determining the final figure.
