Job Description

Drives the organization's strategic growth objectives by understanding our customers' most important needs, and leading winning capture strategies. Accountable for identification, qualification, and capture of business development opportunities, and the generation of qualified pipeline necessary to meet or exceed company's growth forecast and plan. Leads the company effort to form agreements and pursue business arrangements with other businesses that support strategic corporate growth and sustainment goals. Advises the company President and other Executive Team members regarding corporate initiates that can support business growth.

  • Develops key business relationships in federal government markets; acting as liaison with government agencies and offices and with external business partners to coordinate the development of strategic relationships.
  • Responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities through federal agency outreach, opportunity identification, relationship building, participation in associations, and research.
  • Evaluates and schedules projects, resources, and monitors project timelines.
  • Develops marketing strategies and proposes long range business plans and defines and executes on delivery and implementation plans.
  • Identifies business development opportunities using innovative ways by utilizing an opportunity list, developing marketing leads, attending industry events and proactive research.
  • Conducts client and competitor market research and analysis.
  • Manages and maintains a collaborative working relationship with clients, exceeding expectations by providing high-quality solutions and service.
  • Develops and disseminates information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.
  • Validates progress toward and accomplishment of goals against specified objectives and success metrics.
  • Communicates solutions and business plans to clients and potential clients with a clear understanding of the intended audiences for the solution.
  • Develops proposed solutions to clients and prospects by articulating approach and strategy as it directly relates to meeting project and business objectives.
  • Oversees feasibility research and estimates timeline and costs.
  • Monitors government funding reports and procurement forecasts on an on-going basis to identify potential opportunities.
  • Presents and advocates solution offerings and capabilities to government partners.
  • Networks and supports industry/client interaction to keep up-to-date on trends and cycles affecting new business development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree equivalent relevant experience; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of business development experience, preferably on government contracts; 7+ years of management experience

  • Must be willing to work the hours necessary to accomplish the tasks assigned which may occasionally include evenings or weekend support as needed.
