Stanley Consultants is currently seeking an Advisory Business Development Manager for one of our following offices: Austin TX, Chicago IL, Denver CO, Jackson MI, or Remote.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Development Manager will win and deliver advisory and development engagements in the U.S. with leading investment firms, developers/ IPPs, financial advisors, public power, higher education entities, and IOUs to creatively solve their problems and assist in their innovation. The successful candidate will grow existing client relationships and support the identification and development of new clients for Stanley Consultants in distributed energy resources, central utility plants or district energy projects, as well as grid-connected thermal power and renewable energy projects.

This position offers an opportunity to play an instrumental role in the direction and strategic growth of an established full-service engineering and consulting firm, and the expansion of those services across the country. This job is ideal for a self-starter and motivated individual looking for diversity, unique challenges, and an opportunity to have a direct impact on the development and success of a growing advisory and development services practice. This opportunity offers interaction with a variety of clients in multiple markets.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our new team member will lead and execute the sales strategy for:

  • Planning services including master planning, portfolio energy analysis, sustainability initiatives, rate analysis, feasibility studies, economic technology evaluations, and conceptual designs.
  • Development engagements including program management, site selection, land and right of way acquisitions, environmental studies and permitting, preliminary engineering, production modeling, interconnection support, and design and owner's engineer activities.
  • Transactional support services including independent engineer diligence, technical support for mergers and acquisitions/ investment thesis, facility and equipment condition assessments, permit assessments, CapEx and OpEx reviews and assessments, contract scope reviews, financial model assessments, and budget reviews.
  • Compliance services including asset management, condition assessments, environmental compliance, operating permit compliance, code surveys, arc flash studies, hazardous materials inventory, and environmental reporting.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in assessing and developing financial models/ pro-formas, and other business plan models.
  • Experienced with planning, development, transactional, and compliance services.
  • Ready to achieve new and add-on business with existing clients by developing and enhancing key client relationships and serving as one of the primary company contacts.
  • Eager to provide leadership in the development of client relationships, capture planning, strategy, pursuit and proposal activities.
  • A leader in project scoping and costing and proposal preparation, interviews, and negotiations to the extent required.
  • Able to travel as required.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, natural sciences, or business.
  • 10+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MBA is preferred, but not required dependent on experience.

Salary Range: Base Compensation:
