We are currently looking for a Senior Back-End Software Engineer/Developer
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Serve in a mentor role to team members
* Experience with NiFi, Java, Python, and Spark. Some knowledge of linux use (interacting with remote servers, ethernet interfaces, etc.) Knowledge of AWS architecture, AWS marketplace, Cloud formation scripts and lambda expressions with ec2 & ephemeral instance management.
* Applying government and industry security into our back-end stack.
* Coding/configuring software applications based on detailed wireframes and requirements.
* Testing the application for usability and functionality.
* Creating Unit Tests.
* Participating in code reviews.
* Working with the Systems Engineers/Devops as well as testers to assure the application is meeting the requirements.
* Work in a fast paced software development environment to meet schedule milestones.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Proficiency with ingesting, parsing, and handling large velocities of data, as well as large volumes. Rapid prototyping solutions to deal with the veracity of the data and quick recovery when schemas are not exact.
* Strong communication skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with the local and virtual team.
* Knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of the Software Engineering field working under limited supervision.
