JOB TITLE: Assistant Nurse Manager

REPORTS TO: Nurse Manager
INTRODUCTION
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse capable of providing care and supervision of clinical staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager must be skilled in completing nursing assessments and performing routine nursing procedures health center procedures. The Assistant Nurse Manager models adherence to the policy and procedures, as well as commitment to quality care, and is responsible for the overall functioning of the nursing/medical assistant staff. Partnering with the Health Center Management Team, the Assistant Nurse Manager strives to see patients in a timely manner and works to promote flow through the health center in a friendly and efficient manner.

The position requires contact with staff at all levels throughout the organization. There are also external organizational relationships that may be a part of the work of this individual.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
The Assistant Nurse Manager must be able to balance the needs of diverse constituencies on a daily basis.
RISKS
The position involves everyday risk and discomforts, which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meetings, training rooms, and other UHC health Care Sites. The work area is adequately lit, heated, and ventilated. All medical services shall be provided according to medically accepted community standards of care. The employee shall provide evidence of a recent (within the past twelve (12) months) health assessment that includes a PPD and/or chest x-ray results.
